Diversifying

If any proof was necessary of the need to diversify in a challenging economic climate…. as an aerodynamicist I am currently working on trees and potatoes!

At last, the problem of the tea transit is solved!!! I am a tea inclusive zone again.
This little beauty is a travel mug that actually seals, so I can fill it up and then it is small enough to put in the pouch of my hoody or pocket of my trackies and still have my hand free to use the crutches. Caffeine poisoning here we come!!!

What a Difference Competency Makes

{Notes}

After my physio nightmare of thursday, today saw me return to the scene of a past injury treatment to enlist the services (and hopefully restore my confidence in physiotherapists!) of Jo. All I can report is yay, she pushed hard (which I need to get back to sport) but acknowledged the consultants instructions and tailored her programme for me accordingly! Please take note NHS appointed physio that is what you are supposed to do - because my doctor tells me your treatment method was approximately 10 years out of date and did far more harm than good!

It is unfortunate I have to pay for it, but I would rather be treated properly for money than damaged and set back for free on the NHS. What stinks about it is that I am fortunate enough to be in a position I can pay, I hate to think how much damage could be done to people who can’t!

Inside my knee during in surgery and a handy diagram to show what I damage:

Ruptured ACL - replaced with some of my hamstring

Medial Meniscus - cut out

Lateral meniscus - repaired (fingers crossed) bloody tricky according to bestest surgeon

A Little Bit of Knowledge…

{Notes}

My recent surgery has led me to encounter a number of medical professionals and nearly all of them have been great. That was until yesterday, when I met the new physio I had been referred to. Now most physio are brilliant people and I thank large numbers of them for their mighty efforts getting me back on the football pitch. However, my new lady who shall remain nameless appears to think she knows better than my specialist orthopaedic surgeon and is trying to totally disregard all the instructions giving in his recovery plan. As I said I have great respect for physios but sorry lady, in this instance I think I might go with his 15 years plus of specialist skill and intimate knowledge of what he did inside my knee!
Oh well back to paying for a physio I know I can trust!
